Israel’s War on Gaza

For 75 years Palestinians have been forced to live under Israeli settler colonialism and oppression in a suffocating Zionist apartheid regime. Since October 7th Israel has unleashed some of the worst violence on Gaza as a form of collective punishment for Palestinians daring to fight for their dignity and resist this occupation. As a result almost 2 million Palestinians are now refugees being forcibly removed from their homeland.

Acts of Genocide

Israel Occupation Forces cut Palestinians in Gaza off from food and water, electricity, and fuel. They bomb residential areas, schools and hospitals. Israel targets Palestinian civilians and aid workers, and assassinates Palestinian journalists and their families. IOF soldiers subject Palestinians to brutal torture and sexual violence. The IOF indiscriminately drops bombs and white phosphorus on Gaza, killing more than 41,000 Palestinians and reducing the Gaza strip to rubble. They are actively blocking life-saving humanitarian aid from reaching Palestinian civilians throughout Gaza, creating a forced famine.

The death toll continues to rise as more and more Palestinians succumb to starvation, exposure to the elements, and disease. Violence is also erupting in the occupied West Bank. Palestinians there are being terrorized as Israeli settlers (backed by the IOF) continue killing, destroying farmland, and seizing property to build illegal outposts.

During each siege, Israel repeatedly cuts off communications and internet in Gaza creating a total blackout. Israel is carrying out ethnic cleansing in plain sight, and they escalate the violence under the cover of darkness. The occupation even plans military operations and attacks around major holidays, championship games, and fashion events here in the United States, taking advantage of key moments when they think we’ll be too distracted to realize what’s going on in Palestine.

All Eyes on Rafah

Now 1.7 million Palestinians have been driven to Rafah, the Southernmost part of Gaza. Israeli Occupation Forces are carrying out a full-scale ground invasion there after shutting down the border with Egypt; effectively trapping Palestinians who have no place left to flee. Israel is doing all this with monetary and military aid from the US government, who remains complicit in the genocide.

Ceasefire Now

I stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people. I’m calling on the US government and world leaders to demand AND ENFORCE an immediate PERMANENT ceasefire, condemn this genocide, and end the Israeli occupation of Palestine. If you’re like me and you’ve been trying and failing to articulate your thoughts, or you get tongue-tied, don’t let that discourage you. We need to keep talking about this now more than ever. Please use your voice to speak up for Palestine.
